An analysis of the 7,152 incidents occurring in CY 2025 disclosed:

 

• Pharmaceuticals in every therapeutic category were targeted by criminals.

 

• 2,857 different medicines were involved in these incidents. This represented an eighteen percent increase (+18%) from CY 2024.

 

• As many as 93 different medicines were discovered in a single incident.

 

The categories most frequently targeted by individuals engaged in pharmaceutical counterfeiting were metabolism, central nervous system (CNS), and genito-urinary.
